Which Part of the Body Are You? Part 3

Continued from Part 2... As we've been saying, this issue of comparison, envy, covetousness and competition within the Body of Christ didn't start today. It goes even as far back as the first set of the early church in the Book of Acts. If you don't get it, just try putting yourself in the shoes of the early church leaders. You’re planning a collaboration strategy to promote unity and thinking everyone is on board. Only to be confronted with some of the world's best lying team, who wanted to eat their cake and have it. If you have yet to notice how the event played out, let me break it down for you. Barnabas gave all he owned to the church and was recognized for it, he was even publicly given the nickname "Son of Consolation." When the couple, Ananias and Sapphira, saw this, they were envious of the recognition and wanted it for themselves, too. Talk about comparison, covetousness, and competition at play. However, the problem was that the giving they were doing didn't come from a place of Agape. It didn't come from a sincere heart. It was for selfish reasons. So, they couldn't give their All. And we know how the story ended. The revealing mirror of the Holy Spirit didn't spare them. Their little plan backfired and their lives were the price they paid! So, I ask again, which part of the Body are you? How's your walk with the Holy Spirit? What is He telling you about your role in the Body of Christ? Still not sure, this is your cue to shut it all down and seek God's face. Remember, God's instruction in Jeremiah 29:13 — You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. God bless us all!
